DJ/producer Amy Jor has always been a creative, drawn to music and the arts from the time she was just five years old. The artist grew up dancing, as well as playing the guitar and keyboard, and by the time she was in her early teens she was already making her first forays into electronic music—the direction which would carry the rest of her career.

At the age of 15, Jor entered the music industry for the first time in a professional capacity, interning at New York City’s TPA Studios, a DJ and production school founded that same year by artist JP Solis. From there, Jor’s passion and career continued to grow, landing her a spot studying music production at the prestigious SAE Institute of Technology in New York City, as well as a role as an assistant engineer at Rich Royce Studios.

Still based in New York City, the artist has continued to make a name for herself in being a creative multihyphenate, bridging the gaps between dance music genres including house (and subgenres including deep house, classic house, and microhouse) as well as other styles including dub techno, disco, and jazz funk. She’s also well versed in audio engineering and building analog tools like synths and MIDI controllers, which adds to her one-of-a-kind approach.

Jor has amassed a slew of impressive accolades including performances in and around New York City at top venues such as Brooklyn’s Good Room, Elsewhere’s Zone One room, and Eris. She’s also played Elements Music Festival in 2019 and 2021, sharing the lineup with dance music stars like J. Worra, Tokimonsta, Clozee, Rusko, and Claude Vonstroke. Jor has also notably opened for artists like Inoki and Simon Doty, in addition to Tinlicker during their In Another Lifetime album tour’s stop in Manhattan. Currently, she is a resident at New York’s Sullivan Room.
