Forget Beyonce and Drake, the UK's Joel Corry is one of the fiery new artists who is bringing dance music back into the pop era with precision and grace.

For the past seven years since 2015, the young producer and DJ has demonstrated his knack for pairing vocals with club beats. Though he started off within the more big-room, EDM sound, he quickly transitioned to a smoother and more refined aural aesthetic.

Corry’s 2017 single, “All the Things” brought down the tempo, but cranked up the grooves as soulful voicework glides over a stirring deep house beat.

That same year he displayed his versatility as an artist with “All Night” a minimalistic tech house heater that swaps soul singing for upbeat rapping, but the connection between the voice and the backing sounds remains solid.

Fast forward to 2022 and Corry has five platinum certifications in the UK, five BRIT nominations, and a resume that includes major labels and some of the biggest venues in the world. No doubt he is now one of the revered names in dance music.

The big break started with 2019’s “Sorry” which quickly became a Top 10 single in the UK. “Sorry” also broke the 24-hour Shazam record in the UK with over 41,000 recorded tags.

From there Corry was as in-demand for collaboration as he was for gigs. He started working with the likes of David Guetta, Jax Jones and Saweetie on tracks like “What Would You Do?” which currently flaunts over 50 million streams on Spotify, and “OUT OUT” which also features Charli XCX and has a massive 319 million streams.

In 2021 Corry took these pop-heavy sounds to sold-out tours in the US and the UK along with a residency in Ibiza that he continued this Summer.

The pop vocalist/house music combination is one that never goes out of style, and with the format now extending to major pop acts once again there is no telling where Joel Corry will go.
