Party people—are you ready for an entire week of unforgettable parties, music, and resort vibes at one of North America’s favorite cities to play ‘tourist’? Well, you’re in for a treat. The National Hotel at Miami Beach is gearing up to welcome you on March 23 for the biggest Miami Music Week 2022 opening pool party they’ve thrown to date.
Hosted by Miami native Alex Sanchez, aka ALX’s label, Descend Records, you can expect plenty of pulsing rhythms and deep grooves at this tremendous celebration of techno talent. Kick off the week-long event by relaxing poolside at the National while you vibe out to music from Pan-Pot, Indira Paganotto, Giorgia Angiuli, and ALX.
Festival-favorites Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix—aka Pan-Pot— will be headlining the Descend party. The Berlin-based duo has a penchant for firing up the dancefloor with hard-hitting techno cuts. They’re hot off the decks at EDC Mexico, and this Spring, they’ll be gracing the decks at CRRSD Fest and several event venues in New York, Tempe, and Las Vegas as they continue their North American tour. The Descend Pool Party is your best chance to catch them in a more intimate setting.
Indira Paganotto is no novice to techno nor massive shindigs. Raised by a DJ father whose vinyl collection consisted of trance music, she signed to Ian Pooley’s label Pooled at 16. Indira has played at festivals like Lollapalooza, Daydream, and internationally revered clubs in London, Paris, Munich, Portugal, and Madrid. She’s notorious for her wide, constant smile and eclectic sound that draws from her early musical influences and elements from progressive and minimal techno. Last year, the genre-bending artist founded a label of her own, ARTCORE, and has announced she’ll be releasing a slew of singles and playing them out as she continues touring.
Italian multi-instrumentalist Giorgia Angiuli, known for her unique techno and house sets, will dazzle and enchant you. Giorgia is a classically-trained musician and often utilizes drum pads, a theremin, and various keyboards to produce loops and sounds that she integrates live into her performance. The composer-DJ is currently touring her latest album Quantum Love, released post-pandemic quarantine, and her most vibrant body of work to date.
Last but not least, Descend label founder and DJ-producer ALX will be playing a melodic techno set perfect for lounging or raving by the pool. ALX’s discography is often as energetic as it is groovy, and his Descend set is guaranteed to hypnotize and delight you as you gear up for a week of beautiful sun, incredible music, and festivities.
Rising local talents Bonilla, Gioh Cecato, Floren Gran, and Xenaa will be lending additional support in rocking the festival-sized celebration of music during one of the most anticipated music events of the year.
