John Digweed

On November 26, we welcome John Digweed to The Room at Superior Ingredients. Digweed's last New York performance was with longtime collaborator Sasha at Avant Gardner. After a summer of rocking festivals around the world, he's coming to Brooklyn for a rare, intimate performance.

As one of the artists who helped architect the dance music movement in the early '90s, Digweed stands firm as a historic figure in the story of the culture. The groundbreaking British DJ and producer continues to loom large in the zeitgeist and remains as relevant and dynamic as ever.

The co-founder of the Bedrock record label (alongside Nick Muir), John Digweed has spent the last twenty years driving an engine for creative growth in dance music. Under his direction, the label has been responsible for establishing the careers of countless artists. Even after nearly 25 years in business, the Bedrock seal of approval remains a defining moment for those fortunate and talented enough to be signed.

When Digweed burst onto the scene as the acid house craze was waning, he helped create the foundation for progressive house to reign supreme. Over the years, his uncompromising attention to detail and incredible production prowess has kept him at the top of the game. While he was one of the first DJs to tour the US extensively, he remains a prominent figure at clubs and festivals globally. He's brought his precision mixing and expert track selection to Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, Time Warp, Ultra Music Festival, Output (now Superior Ingredients), fabric, Pacha, and many other clubs and events.

The ear for curation Digweed established with his pivotal compilation mixes, The Mix Collection alongside Sasha, guides everything he touches to this day. He continues that work through his radio show "Transitions," broadcast to over 14 million people in 60 countries weekly.
