Overview

“Drugs From Amsterdam” producer Mau P sold out The Roof at Superior Ingredients, so we’re adding another show in case you missed out on the day party or if you can’t get enough of the Dutch DJ producer’s dirty tech house beats. On Friday, February 10, after he shuts it down at 74 Wythe Ave, we’re closing out the night at Somewhere Nowhere, New York’s most beautiful elevated nightlife spot. Between the epic views of Manhattan from 39 stories up, the indoor jungle aesthetic, and the thumping music, this is a can’t miss experience at one of New York’s premiere nightlife institutions.

Mau is coming to us amid his first North American tour, including sets at Insomniac’s Countdown NYE and Proper NYE in San Diego. We’re excited to see what kind of new heat he has ready for us.

His hit single “Drugs From Amsterdam” was the ID of the summer, and it continues to get heavy play from DJs like Tiesto, Oliver Heldens, James Hype, and MK. He’s already prepped his follow-up, “Gimme That Bounce.” Out January 27 on Insomniac Records, it’s yet another dark and brooding bass-forward groover that’s already been supported by Malaa, Fisher, and John Summit at his massive headlining show at the Shrine Hall in LA this summer.

While Mau P may be a fresh face to some, he’s more than paid his dues in the wider dance music scene. Maurits Westveen has been a force in dance music for the better part of a decade. And it’s the culmination of that near decade of experience that led him to produce a sound that is as fresh as it is boundary-pushing.

Under his previous alias Maurice West, he diligently worked his way to the main stages of Ultra and Tomorrowland. Collaborations and sign-offs from industry leaders like HARDWELL, W&W, and KSHMR affirmed that the young up-and-comer had the goods. However, as Marits matured, so did his taste in music, and by the time the pandemic knee-capped the industry, he was ready to experiment with the underground sounds of house and techno. After successfully sneaking these sounds into his Maurice West sets, Westvveen was ready to create something fueled by the sounds of the underground entwined with the energy and flare of main stage big room.
